Not much new!

Hi everybody! I'm still the same awesome dog I've always been, still visiting the Ronald McDonald House, still looking for love around every corner, and still a bit of a hoarder of sticks and tennis balls. Here are some recent pictures of me!

A throwback

Hi everyone! I've been doing well since the last time my mom posted a blog. My 2nd birthday is in one week, and I've been busy working as a therapy dog! Every other Tuesday, mom and I go to the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey and we visit with the families staying there. I love everyone, of course, but my favorite are the kids. Oh, I loooooove kids!

In October I had a really special job-- I got to be the ring-bearer in my mom and dad's wedding! I was such a good boy! I've never been to a wedding before, but everyone says I did such a great job. Here is a picture of me at the wedding, and another of me when my parents first rescued me as a 4 month old puppy. Gosh, time flies when you're having fun!

Beagle With a Purpose

It's been a while again and my mom hasn't been very good about posting all the cool stuff that keeps happening to me! And a LOT has happened!

A few months ago my mom decided I might be a really good therapy dog because I love people and they love me (most of them)! She says I'm pretty calm for a young beagle, or any beagle at all I guess, so she contacted the good people at the Red Cross and got some information about how to become a Red Cross Therapy Animal. First I had to go to a nursing home and prove that I am friendly and well-behaved. I did such a good job! I met a few of the nurses and staff and also some nice older folks who were excited to see me. Then I went to a fun event for doggies at the Cross of Life Church in Linglestown. There was food there and lots of people and dogs, so I was pretty thrilled. The last observation I had to pass was during the American Cancer Society's Relay/Walk for Life. Of course, I passed! I'm happy because all I had to do was be myself and my mom was so proud of me!

Last Saturday was my first gig as an official therapy pet. My mom took me to City Island in Harrisburg for the Armed Forces Day event. Lots of people pet me and told me how sweet and handsome I am, and I soaked it all up.

Yesterday my Aunt Erin took me to the school where my mom teaches. I got to meet a ton of first and second graders who went crazy over me. I loved it but it was a little overwhelming because they all wanted to hug and love me at the same time. Maybe now I will listen better to my mom when she tells me to stop because I see what she goes through every day as a teacher (or maybe not...he he).

So, that's what I have to share for now! I can't wait to tell you more of the cool things I do as a therapy dog.

On a final note....YAY, the weather is nice enough to go back to the dog park for playdates! :) But BOO to the ticks that seem to be infesting the grass already.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was the big day- I turned one!! Unfortunately I was feeling under the weather from some biscuits I had the day before, so I could only have a little birthday treat. My mom took me to the dog park yesterday so I could play with my best friend Jackson! We had so much fun chasing each other and running around in the snow. He's spending the weekend with us next weekend and I am so excited!

Last night my mom and dad had some friends over and it was a great way to end my special day. I got loving from everyone and then snuggled up on my mommy's lap to fall asleep.

Check out my delicious biscuit and some photos from yesterday's playdate!

Houston, We've Got a Problem

Today my mom took me to the vet to get my skin checked out. I've been super itchy so I've been biting, scratching and licking anything I can reach on my body! Actually I've been scratching so much that the fur on my neck is really thin. I finally realized that the vet is not a fun place, rather, all sorts of not-so-fun things can happen there so I put up a fight walking in, and I was practically sprinting to get out of there. I wouldn't leave my mom's side the whole time- I laid like a good boy on the chair and waited for the doctor to come in. She told my mom that my allergies are very bad and she gave me some medicine that will hopefully help. I'd like my fur to grow back because it's cold outside and I feel naked! On the bright side, I got a few treats :) Sadly, I have to go back in two weeks for a follow-up. Not fair!

Happy New Year!

It's been a long time since we've updated- life has been full of exciting events! My family moved into a new home, I celebrated my first Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year, and my first ever snow storm! For Thanksgiving I got to try turkey (yum!) and on Christmas I was so spoiled by my aunt, grandparents and my mom and dad! On Christmas morning I had my own stocking waiting for me. I also had fun watching my mom and dad wrap presents. In fact, I liked it so much that I tried to help by grabbing onto the wrapping paper with my teeth. That didn't seem to go over well, so I figured out how to open the closet door so I can play with the wrapping paper when I'm all alone!

We moved into our new place about a month ago and it has been really hard for me to adjust. I like all the room I have to run now and having my very own yard to play in, but I miss my friends from my last home. I'm getting used to this new house slowly, and the other day my best friend Jackson came to play with me! It was so good to romp around with him like old times :)

Yesterday we got our first snow of the season. My mom took lots of pictures and some video because she thought it was cute to see how I acted. I think snow tastes delicious!

Well, that's about it. Here are some pictures (lots!) for you to enjoy. I will be turning one year old on January 17th. My parents can't believe how fast time is going and how much I've grown. I think they wish I would always stay a puppy. They shouldn't worry, I have LOTS of puppy left in me :)

I...smell...food!

Being that this is my first autumn ever, I have never smelled fresh pumpkin pie! That is, not until last Sunday when my mom decided to make her first pumpkin pie. I guess I thought it was for me since I've never tried it... turns out I was wrong.

Maybe if I just keep watching it will fall off the edge?
